A welcoming and well-led primary school in Gateshead is seeking a Reception ECT to join their Early Years team full-time, working 8.30am to 3.30pm, Monday to Friday.

This is not a sink-or-swim role. You’ll be supported, coached, and guided every step of the way.

What you’ll be doing

  • Teaching a Reception class within a well-established EYFS framework

  • Delivering engaging phonics, early maths, and play-based learning

  • Building secure routines that help children thrive

  • Working closely with an experienced EYFS Lead

  • Receiving weekly ECT mentoring and structured feedback

You’ll have access to shared planning, established assessment systems, and a team who genuinely enjoy working together.

We’re looking for someone who

  • Holds UK QTS and is completing or beginning their ECT induction

  • Understands child development and early learning principles

  • Brings creativity, warmth, and strong organisation

  • Wants to build confidence in a supportive setting
