Bring Science to life, not just the syllabus
We’re working with a secondary school in Wakefield that’s on the lookout for a Science teacher who can make lessons stick, the kind students remember long after the bell goes. This is a department where curiosity is encouraged, questions are welcomed, and practical learning isn’t squeezed out by paperwork. Whether it’s a perfectly timed demo, a well-run practical, or that moment when a student finally gets it, this is a role where those moments actually happen.

Planning and delivering lessons that are clear, engaging, and accessible to all learners
Bringing energy to practical work while keeping it safe, structured, and purposeful
Tracking progress and supporting students to achieve their potential
Working closely with a collaborative department that shares resources and ideas
What the school offers
A supportive Science department with a strong mix of experience and fresh ideas
Well-equipped labs that allow you to actually teach practically
Leadership that backs its staff and values good teaching over box-ticking
Students who respond well to consistency and clear expectations
A school culture that recognises the pressures of teaching and supports staff wellbeing
We’re looking for someone who…
Holds UK QTS (or equivalent recognised teaching qualification)
Has experience teaching Science in a secondary setting
Can deliver Biology, Chemistry, or Physics confidently at KS3 and KS4
Builds positive relationships and manages behaviour with clarity and fairness
Sees Science as more than content, it’s about curiosity, problem-solving, and real-world thinking
