Geography Teacher
We're working with a welcoming secondary school in Telford that's looking for a Geography Teacher to join its team. This is a school where pupils are encouraged to think independently, challenge ideas, and develop confidence both inside and outside the classroom. Expectations are high, support is strong, and there's a genuine sense of community running through everything they do.
Geography sits at the heart of the curriculum here. It's not just about maps and case studies. It's about helping young people make sense of the world around them, from the communities they live in to the global challenges shaping their future.
As part of the Humanities team, you'll bring lessons to life through real-world examples, thought-provoking discussions, and meaningful learning experiences. Whether you're exploring tectonic hazards, urban development, sustainability, or cultural diversity, you'll inspire pupils to ask questions, think critically, and see the bigger picture.
This is a school where curiosity is encouraged, behaviour is positive, and teachers are trusted to be creative. You'll be joining a collaborative department that shares ideas, celebrates success, and works together to make learning memorable.
What You'll Love About This School
Curious pupils who enjoy learning and asking questions
A supportive Humanities department that values teamwork
Leadership that trusts teachers and encourages creativity
Ongoing professional development and career progression opportunities
A well-established school community with a strong sense of purpose
Values, Safeguarding and Curriculum
The school actively promotes British values, including democracy, individual liberty, the rule of law, and mutual respect for different faiths and beliefs. Pupils are encouraged to share their views, challenge ideas respectfully, and develop into thoughtful, responsible citizens.
Respect, diversity, and inclusion are woven throughout the curriculum. Through RP, PSHCE and SMSC provision, pupils explore different cultures, faiths, and perspectives, helping them develop a broader understanding of the world around them.
Safeguarding is central to school life. All staff play an active role in creating a safe environment and are expected to follow safeguarding procedures, remaining vigilant and raising concerns where necessary.
Who We're Looking For
You're a Geography Teacher who loves helping pupils understand how the world works. Whether you're an experienced teacher or an ECT ready to begin your journey, you bring energy, enthusiasm, and a genuine passion for your subject.
You create lessons that spark curiosity, encourage discussion, and help pupils make connections between classroom learning and real life.
Got ideas for fieldwork opportunities, sustainability projects, eco-clubs, or enrichment activities? Even better. This is the kind of school where those ideas are welcomed and supported.
