

English Teacher
We're working with a number of welcoming secondary schools across Sunderland who are looking for a passionate English Teacher to join their team full time from September.
Whether you're an experienced teacher or an ECT looking for your first permanent opportunity, this role offers the chance to inspire a love of literature and language while helping young people develop the confidence and skills they'll carry throughout life.
You'll be joining a supportive department where creativity, collaboration and high-quality teaching are valued. Schools are looking for teachers who can engage students, build positive relationships and create an inclusive learning environment where every pupil can thrive.
What you'll be doing
- Planning and delivering engaging English lessons across KS3 and KS4
- Inspiring students through literature, language and creative writing
- Assessing, monitoring and tracking pupil progress
- Creating a positive and inclusive classroom environment
- Supporting students to achieve their full academic potential
- Working closely with colleagues, parents and pastoral teams
- Contributing to the wider school community
We're looking for someone who
- Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Has experience teaching English within a secondary setting
- Has strong classroom management skills
- Can motivate and engage learners of all abilities
- Is passionate about raising achievement
- Has excellent communication and organisational skills
