Protocol Education is working with specialist SEN schools and alternative provisions across Sunderland looking for enthusiastic Criminology Graduates to join their teams this September.
This is a fantastic opportunity for graduates considering careers in Youth Justice, Probation, Educational Psychology, Social Work, Mental Health or Teaching. You'll gain invaluable experience supporting children and young people with Autism (ASC), ADHD, SEMH, behavioural needs and complex additional needs. Criminology graduates are highly valued within specialist education due to their understanding of behaviour, safeguarding and the impact of trauma.
Role Details
- Full-time
- September start
- Monday-Friday
- 8:30am-3:30pm or 8:30am-4:30pm
- Term-time only
- Long-term role with permanent opportunities
Responsibilities
- Supporting pupils on a 1:1 and small group basis
- Helping pupils regulate emotions and develop positive behaviour
- Building trusted relationships with vulnerable young people
- Supporting learning both inside and outside the classroom
- Working closely with teachers, SENCOs and therapists
- Encouraging confidence, independence and engagement
We're looking for someone who
- Holds a Criminology degree (or related subject)
- Has a genuine passion for supporting young people
- Is calm, resilient and patient
- Has excellent communication skills
- Experience with children is desirable but not essential

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
