We are recruiting Behaviour Support Assistants to join specialist schools and alternative provisions across South Shields this September.

Working closely with pupils who have Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, you'll play a key role in promoting positive behaviour, emotional regulation and engagement in learning.

Your responsibilities:

• Providing 1:1 and small group behaviour support.
• Building positive relationships with pupils.
• Supporting emotional regulation throughout the school day.
• Working alongside teachers and pastoral staff.
• Encouraging confidence, resilience and independence.

We are looking for:

• Experience supporting children or young people.
• A calm, patient and resilient approach.
• Strong communication skills.
• A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable learners.

Previous experience within education, youth work, care or support work is highly desirable.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
