We are seeking an experienced and motivated Site Manager to join a friendly and supportive secondary school. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys a varied role and takes pride in maintaining high standards across a busy school site.
As Site Manager, you will play a vital role in ensuring the school remains safe, secure, well-maintained and fully operational, helping to create the best possible environment for students, staff and visitors.
The Role
Working closely with the School Business Manager and Leadership Team, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the school site, including:
- Opening and closing the school premises
- Ensuring the security, safety and cleanliness of the site
- Carrying out routine maintenance and minor repairs
- Coordinating contractors and overseeing planned maintenance works
- Monitoring Health & Safety compliance across the school
- Completing and maintaining risk assessments and statutory compliance records
- Managing fire safety, water hygiene and site checks
- Supervising cleaning and site staff where required
- Supporting with lettings and out-of-hours events
- Responding calmly and effectively to emergencies and site issues
We're Looking For Someone Who Is:
- Reliable, organised and self-motivated
- Practical with excellent problem-solving skills
- Experienced in site management, facilities, maintenance or estates
- Knowledgeable in Health & Safety legislation and compliance
- Able to prioritise workloads and work independently
- A confident communicator who enjoys working as part of a team
- Committed to providing a safe and welcoming environment for everyone
Experience within a school or educational setting is desirable but not essential. We welcome applications from candidates with transferable experience from facilities management, estates, engineering, maintenance, construction, manufacturing or similar environments.
