

PMLD Support Assistant
We are seeking a caring and dedicated Support Assistant to join a specialist school supporting pupils with Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD). This is a rewarding opportunity to work with pupils who have a range of complex learning, physical, sensory, and medical needs, helping them access learning and achieve their individual goals.
About the role
As a Support Assistant, you will provide personalised support to pupils throughout the school day, helping them to feel safe, included, and supported. Your role will include:
- Providing one-to-one and small group support in the classroom and during personal care routines.
- Supporting sensory activities, physical development, and communication strategies.
- Encouraging pupils to build independence, confidence, and social skills.
- Working closely with teachers, therapists, and other professionals to provide consistent support.
- Helping to create a positive and structured environment where pupils can learn and develop.
What we are looking for
- Experience supporting children or young people with SEND (experience with PMLD, complex needs, or non-verbal communication is desirable).
- A patient, calm, and compassionate approach.
- The ability to build positive relationships and support pupils with high levels of need.
- A willingness to work as part of a supportive school team.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
