We are working in partnership with a well-established SEND school in Shrewsbury to recruit a dedicated Artistic Youth Worker. This welcoming and supportive school provides education for pupils with Autism (ASD), Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, behavioural challenges, and complex learning needs. Every pupil has an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP), with personalised support to help them achieve their full potential.The RoleAs an Artistic Youth Worker, you will work both one-to-one and within small classroom groups, using creative approaches to support pupils' learning, emotional wellbeing, and personal development.Working closely with teachers and support staff, you will help students build confidence, improve communication, regulate emotions, and engage positively in school life.Key Responsibilities Support pupils through creative activities including art, drama, music, movement, and sensory-based learning.Build positive relationships that encourage confidence, independence, and emotional wellbeing.Deliver tailored support on a one-to-one basis and in small groups.Work collaboratively with teachers and other professionals to deliver personalised learning plans.Promote an inclusive, nurturing, and positive classroom environment.Help pupils overcome barriers to learning and achieve meaningful progress. About YouWe're looking for someone who: Has experience or qualifications in art, drama, music, performing arts, creative therapies, youth work, or a related field.Has experience supporting children or young people, ideally within SEND, Autism (ASD), or SEMH settings.Is patient, adaptable, resilient, and compassionate.Brings enthusiasm, creativity, and energy to every interaction.Is passionate about helping young people thrive.
