We’re working with a supportive primary school in Lawrence Weston looking for a Flexible Learning Partner to provide dedicated 1:1 support within a Year 5 classroom.
This school supports a high number of pupils with complex SEND needs and is looking for someone experienced who can build strong relationships, provide emotional and academic support, and help pupils feel safe, understood, and ready to learn.
The role would suit someone who’s adaptable, resilient, and genuinely passionate about supporting children with additional needs in a nurturing and structured environment.
What you’ll be doing:
- Providing dedicated 1:1 support within a Year 5 classroom
- Supporting a pupil with complex SEND needs throughout the school day
- Helping with emotional regulation, classroom engagement, and learning activities
- Encouraging confidence, independence, and positive behaviour strategies
- Working closely with the class teacher and wider SEND team to provide consistent support
We’re looking for someone who:
- Has previous SEND experience within a school or similar setting
- Feels confident supporting pupils with complex additional needs
- Is calm, patient, and proactive in challenging situations
- Can build positive and trusting relationships with pupils and staff
- Is reliable, adaptable, and ready to start ASAP
Due to the location of the school, driving is preferred. However, the school can also be accessed via train and bus routes.
Essential requirements:
- Enhanced child-only DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one
- References covering the last 24 months
- Right to work in the UK
- Overseas police checks required for any overseas stays longer than 3 months within the past 5 years

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
