We are currently recruiting dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistants to support pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and help them thrive both academically and personally.

The Role

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and other support staff to provide tailored support for pupils with additional needs, including:

  • Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
  • ADHD
  • Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN)
  • Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
  • Moderate and Severe Learning Difficulties

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing 1:1 and small-group support.
  • Supporting pupils to access the curriculum and engage in learning.
  • Building positive relationships and promoting confidence and independence.
  • Implementing individual learning and behaviour support strategies.
  • Assisting with personal care where required.
  • Helping to create a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment.

What We're Looking For

  • Experience working with children or young people, ideally within education, SEN, care, support work, youth work, or similar settings.
  • A patient, resilient, and empathetic approach.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs.
  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply for one through Protocol Education.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
