Salary: £25,600 - up to £35,000 per annum + £4,800 Car Allowance
Hours: Monday to Thursday: 8:30am - 5:00pm | Friday: 8:30am - 4:00pm

In Search of an Assistant Buyer

An opportunity has arisen for a motivated and detail-focused Assistant Buyer to join a well-established residential construction business operating within a fast-paced commercial environment.

This role is ideal for someone looking to further develop their procurement and buying experience, working closely with an experienced commercial team across multiple live developments. You will play a key part in ensuring materials and services are sourced efficiently and in line with build programmes and business requirements.

What the Role Involves

• Supporting the buying team with day-to-day procurement administration and coordination.

• Raising, tracking and managing purchase orders to support project timelines.

• Working with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and resolving any issues that arise.

• Assisting with invoice queries and maintaining accurate procurement records.

• Producing reports and updating purchasing information as required.

• Ensuring compliance with internal procurement procedures and policies.

• Collaborating with internal departments to help maintain programme delivery.

About You

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:

• Knowledge or experience within housebuilding or construction.

• Strong understanding of procurement and commercial processes.

• Awareness of building regulations and technical standards.

• Experience using COINS procurement system (desirable).

• Strong Microsoft Excel skills.

• High level of numerical accuracy and attention to detail.

• Strong organisational skills and ability to manage competing priorities.

• Confident communication skills when dealing with suppliers and colleagues.
