We're working with a welcoming primary school in Wallsend that's looking for an enthusiastic English Graduate Teaching Assistant to join their Key Stage 1 team this September. You'll be helping young learners build confidence in reading, writing and communication, while gaining invaluable classroom experience along the way.

What you'll be doing

  • Supporting pupils across Key Stage 1 with reading, phonics and early writing
  • Working one-to-one and with small groups to boost confidence and progress
  • Helping create engaging, creative learning experiences
  • Supporting the class teacher with classroom activities and organisation
  • Building positive relationships with pupils, staff and families

We're looking for someone who

  • Holds a degree in English or a related subject
  • Has a genuine passion for education and helping children thrive
  • Communicates confidently and builds positive relationships easily
  • Is patient, proactive and eager to learn
  • Has experience working with children, whether through volunteering, tutoring, coaching or placements, although this isn't essential

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
