This is an incredibly rewarding opportunity to support learners with social, emotional and mental health needs, helping them build confidence, develop positive relationships and re-engage with education.
Every day is different. One moment you might be supporting a learner who needs reassurance before entering the classroom, the next you'll be celebrating a breakthrough that has taken weeks of consistency and encouragement to achieve. Your role will be about far more than academic support. You'll become a trusted adult who helps learners feel safe, understood and capable of success.
Why work with Protocol Education?
At Protocol Education, we understand that finding the right school is just as important as finding the right job. We work closely with our schools to match you with a setting where you'll feel supported, valued and able to develop your career.

- Weekly PAYE pay
- Free accredited CPD, including behaviour management, autism awareness and SEND training
- A dedicated consultant who knows the local schools
- Long-term and permanent opportunities
- Regular wellbeing check-ins
- Refer a Friend bonus scheme
What you'll be doing
- Supporting learners on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
- Using positive behaviour strategies to encourage emotional regulation
- Building consistent, trusting relationships with pupils
- Working alongside teachers to adapt learning activities
- Helping learners develop confidence, resilience and independence
What we're looking for
You'll be someone who remains calm under pressure and understands that behaviour is often a form of communication. You'll enjoy building relationships, be patient when progress takes time and genuinely believe every learner deserves the opportunity to succeed.
Experience in education, youth work, care, coaching or support work would be beneficial.
