SEN Teaching Assistant – 1:1 Autism Support

Location: LS28
Setting: Primary School
Contract: Full-time
Start Date: ASAP
Salary: £88–£110 per day (dependent on experience)

You’re not “just” a TA.

We’re working with a welcoming primary school in LS28 looking for a full-time SEN Teaching Assistant to support a lovely pupil with autism on a 1:1 basis. This role is all about building trust, creating routine, and helping one child feel safe, understood, and ready to learn.

If you’ve got patience, empathy, and a knack for turning tricky moments into small wins, you’ll fit right in.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Providing consistent 1:1 support for a pupil with autism

  • Using visual timetables and structured routines

  • Supporting emotional regulation and sensory needs

  • Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO

  • Celebrating progress, even the tiny steps forward

We’d love you to have:

  • Experience supporting children with autism

  • A calm, positive approach

  • Confidence managing behaviours with kindness and structure

  • A genuine passion for SEND support

This is a school that truly values its support staff. You won’t be left figuring it out alone. There’s guidance, collaboration, and a team that understands how important your role is.
