SEND Teaching Assistant - September roles
Recruiting Now for September 2026 | SEND Teaching Assistants
SEND, SEMH, ASD & PMLD Support Roles Across Your Local Area
Some children just need the right person beside them.
This summer, we're recruiting caring, resilient and enthusiastic people to join our team and support pupils in SEND schools across your local area from September 2026.
Whether you're an experienced Teaching Assistant or looking to take your first step into education, we'd love to hear from you.
Every day is different. One moment you could be celebrating a breakthrough in communication, the next you're helping a child build confidence, independence and trust. It's challenging, rewarding and genuinely makes a difference.
Experience in schools is fantastic, but it's not essential.
We'd also love to hear from people with backgrounds in youth work, care, coaching, mentoring, support work, mental health, residential care or roles supporting children and adults with additional needs. If you've got patience, empathy and the right attitude, we'll help you build the rest.
Your role could include:
• Supporting pupils on a one-to-one basis or in small groups
• Working with children and young people with SEND, SEMH, ASD and PMLD
• Helping pupils regulate emotions, build confidence and engage in learning
• Supporting communication, sensory activities and personal care where required
• Building positive relationships with pupils, families and school staff
• Working alongside teachers and specialist SEND teams
• Creating a safe, calm and encouraging learning environment
We're looking for people who are:
• Patient, kind and resilient
• Passionate about supporting children with additional needs
• Calm under pressure and happy to adapt
• Reliable, positive and ready to get stuck in
• Great at building relationships
• Available to start in September 2026
Why join Protocol Education?
• Flexible work to fit around your lifestyle
• Weekly PAYE pay, no umbrella companies
