Learning Support Assistant

Location: Islington, North London
Contract: Full-time, long-term
Start date: ASAP or next term

We are working with a friendly and inclusive school in Islington that is looking to appoint a full-time Learning Support Assistant to support pupils across the school day.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working closely with children, providing structured support, and helping pupils build confidence in their learning. The school has a strong focus on inclusion, wellbeing, and teamwork, and offers a supportive environment where staff are valued.

The role will include:

  • Supporting pupils in the classroom, either 1:1 or in small groups

  • Assisting with learning activities and adapting tasks where needed

  • Supporting pupils with additional learning or behavioural needs

  • Working closely with class teachers and the wider support team

  • Helping to create a positive, calm, and inclusive learning environment

The school is looking for someone who:

  • Has experience working with children or young people, ideally in an education or support setting

  • Is patient, reliable, and confident building positive relationships

  • Can follow guidance while using initiative where appropriate

  • Is available for a full-time position

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
