Job Title: ASC Teaching Assistant
Location: Hackney, London
Pay: £90–£95 per day
Contract: Full-time, Long-term
Start Date: ASAP

Make a real difference, one small win at a time

Some pupils need a little extra support to shine. That’s where you come in.

We’re working with a fantastic SEND school in Hackney that’s looking for a calm, caring ASC Teaching Assistant to join their team. The school supports pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), creating a structured, nurturing environment where every child is encouraged to grow at their own pace.

If you’re patient, positive, and love seeing those “lightbulb” moments when learning clicks, this could be the role for you.

What your day might look like

No two days are quite the same, but you’ll likely be:

  • Supporting pupils with ASC in small groups or on a 1:1 basis

  • Helping create a calm, structured learning environment

  • Using visual timetables, sensory resources, and tailored learning strategies

  • Working closely with teachers, therapists, and SEN specialists

  • Encouraging independence, confidence, and social skills

Small steps lead to big progress in this setting, and you’ll be right there helping make it happen.

What the school is looking for

You might already have experience in SEND, or maybe you’ve supported children in another setting. Either way, the school values people who are:

  • Patient, compassionate, and reliable

  • Confident supporting pupils with Autism or additional needs

  • Comfortable working in a structured SEND environment

  • Great at building trust and positive relationships with pupils

Experience with ASC, ADHD, or communication needs is a bonus, but the right attitude is just as important.
