SEMH Teaching Assistant – Supportive School in Gateshead

Are you passionate about supporting young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? We’re looking for a caring and resilient SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a warm, nurturing, and highly supportive school in Gateshead.

You’ll work closely with pupils who need additional emotional and behavioural support, helping them feel safe, understood, and ready to learn. This is a rewarding role where you’ll make a real difference every single day.

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience working with children or young people (education, care, youth work, psychology, or similar)

  • A calm, patient, and empathetic approach

  • Confidence in supporting challenging behaviour in a positive way

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
