

Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant

We're recruiting Psychology Graduates to support pupils in specialist schools throughout Gateshead.
You'll work with children who have Autism, SEMH, ADHD, communication needs and learning difficulties, helping them overcome barriers to learning while developing your own professional skills.
If you're hoping to pursue a career in psychology, counselling, social work or education, this is an excellent opportunity to gain meaningful classroom experience.
Role Information

- Monday-Friday
- 8:30am-3:30pm or 8:30am-4:30pm
- Term-time only
- Long-term role
Responsibilities
- Deliver 1:1 interventions
- Support emotional regulation
- Encourage communication and independence
- Assist with behaviour management strategies
- Support pupils throughout the school day
- Work collaboratively with teachers and therapists
Ideal candidate
- Psychology graduate
- Calm, positive and resilient
- Passionate about supporting vulnerable children
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Experience with children is advantageous

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
