1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant – Gateshead
Protocol Education is recruiting a caring and enthusiastic 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to join a specialist SEN school in Gateshead. This rewarding role involves supporting a pupil with complex additional needs, helping them access learning and achieve their individual goals.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing dedicated 1:1 classroom support.
- Supporting the pupil to meet EHCP outcomes.
- Encouraging communication, independence, and emotional regulation.
- Recording daily progress and sharing observations with the wider team.
- Working closely with teachers, therapists, and families.
We're looking for someone who:
- Has experience working with children or young people with SEND (preferred).
- Is patient, resilient, and nurturing.
- Builds positive relationships with pupils.
- Has excellent communication and observation skills.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
