Summary

One of the world's most respected design, engineering, and project management consultancies, playing a leading role in some of the world's most challenging and exciting engineering projects are seeking a motivated Chartered Senior Structural Engineer to join their Buildings and Places multi-disciplinary design service working on a variety of local, national and international projects. 

Based out of offices at either London or Epsom with hybrid working you willl be responsible for the managing and delivery of projects and designs for a varied client base across a wide range of projects relating to buildings and infrastructure across sectors including Education, Commercial, Industrial, Residential, Defence, Energy and Transportation.

As a Chartered Senior Structural Engineer, you will be required to carry out the following responsibilities:

-    Delivering multiple projects or parts of larger projects to completion, within budget and to program.
-    Ensuring the provision of efficient high quality structural engineering design.
-    Using your technical skills and knowledge on a wide range of building structures, and apply to various circumstances.
-    Be aware of and work in compliance with BIM standards, Digital Plan of Work and the project BIM Execution plan.
-    Be the first point of contact for clients, contractors, design team and third parties.
-    Offer support and guidance to more junior members of the team, mentoring them both formally through their chartership training and informally .

-    Effectively manage own time which may be necessary if allocated to more than one project.
-    Effectively manage a small project team, reporting to the team leader.
-    Build client relationships and help identify business opportunities.
-    Be flexible in in work location to meet project needs.

This role may require security clearance and offers of employment will be dependent on obtaining the relevant level of clearance. If this is necessary, it will be discussed with you at interview.

This Chartered Senior Structural Engineer role requires you to have the following qualities:

-    Chartered Engineer, MIStructE or MICE . (CEng)
-    Experience in successfully leading the structural engineering delivery of small/medium projects including the management of small, focused project teams to deliver to agreed deadlines and budgets.
-    Experience in the design of common structural materials as well as a good understanding of current design standards and working practices.
-    Experience in the use of structural analysis design software (Tekla Structural Designer and/or Robot Structural Analysis is desirable).
-    Proven experience on developing projects from concept to construction stage.
-    Proven experience in working across multidisciplinary teams and projects.
-    Excellent communication and presentation skills that can support our client relationships
-    Have the ability to make decisions, act on your own initiative and operate in a pro-active way.
