I am working with a warm, welcoming specialist setting looking for a PMLD Teaching Assistant who brings patience, creativity, and genuine care into the classroom every single day.

What you’ll be doing

You’ll be supporting pupils with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), helping them access learning in a way that works for them.

That might look like:

• Supporting sensory-based learning and personalised activities
• Assisting with personal care in a respectful, dignified way
• Encouraging communication through gestures, sounds, and assistive tools
• Working closely with teachers, therapists, and support staff
• Creating a calm, safe, and engaging environment where pupils can thrive

What we’re looking for

• Experience supporting SEND, PMLD, or complex needs is ideal
• A calm, nurturing approach and a good sense of humour
• Someone who’s proactive, observant, and genuinely invested
• Confidence working as part of a team
• A willingness to learn, adapt, and grow

Bonus points if you’re familiar with sensory strategies, PECS, or Makaton, but don’t worry if not, support and training will be provided.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
