QTS Tutor – Home-Based Education (Complex Medical Needs)
Location: Home-based (within pupil's residence)
Hours: 32.5 hours per week, Monday–Friday
Contract Type: Ongoing / Long-Term Placement

Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience
We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Qualified Teacher (QTS or equivalent) to provide 1:1 home-based education for a Year 2 pupil with complex medical needs, following a Local Authority commission.
This is a unique opportunity to make a meaningful difference to a child's educational journey by delivering a personalised curriculum within the home environment, supported by a dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA).
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver 32.5 hours per week of high-quality 1:1 tuition within the pupil's home.
- Plan, deliver, and assess engaging lessons tailored to the pupil's individual educational needs.
- Work collaboratively with the supporting HLTA, family members, health professionals, and Local Authority representatives.
- Adapt teaching approaches to accommodate complex medical needs and ensure continuity of learning.
- Monitor progress and provide regular reports on educational outcomes.
Essential Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
- Experience teaching primary-aged pupils, ideally Key Stage 1.
- Demonstrable experience supporting children with complex medical needs.
- Strong understanding of safeguarding and inclusive educational practices.
- Excellent communication and partnership-working skills.
Desirable Experience
- Previous experience delivering education in a home-based or alternative provision setting.
- Knowledge of supporting pupils with epilepsy and other complex health conditions.
- Experience working alongside multidisciplinary teams and healthcare professionals.
Additional Information
The successful tutor will be supported by a dedicated 1:1 HLTA who is experienced in supporting children with epilepsy and trained in accordance with health recommendations.
Due to the nature of this commission, applications are particularly welcomed from candidates working within Ofsted and/or CQC registered education providers or those able to deliver services through a registered provision where required.
Enhanced DBS clearance and satisfactory references will be required prior to appointment.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
