We’re partnering with a well-established and growing multidisciplinary building services consultancy that is delivering complex projects across the industrial, life sciences and commercial sectors.
Due to continued growth, they’re now looking to appoint a Senior Mechanical Engineer to play a key role in leading mechanical building services design across a diverse and technically challenging project portfolio.
This position offers the opportunity to take full ownership of design delivery, work closely with clients, and contribute to high-specification projects including cleanrooms, laboratories and regulated environments.
The Role

As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you’ll lead the delivery of mechanical building services design across projects from concept through to completion.

Working within a collaborative consultancy environment, you’ll coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and external stakeholders to deliver high-quality, compliant, and efficient building services solutions.

You’ll also play a key role in mentoring engineers and supporting the continued development of technical standards within the team.
Key Responsibilities

Lead mechanical building services design across industrial, life sciences and commercial projects

Deliver HVAC, ventilation, heating, cooling and utilities systems from concept through to handover

Coordinate designs with architectural, structural, electrical and process teams

Develop solutions for regulated environments including cleanrooms, laboratories and ATEX-classified spaces

Ensure all designs comply with relevant standards (CIBSE, ASHRAE, BS, IS, EN) and project specifications

Prepare detailed design packages, technical reports and tender documentation

Support procurement, contractor coordination and construction phases through site visits and technical input

Take ownership of project delivery, ensuring quality, programme and client expectations are met

Mentor and review the work of junior and intermediate engineers

Act as a key point of contact for clients and internal stakeholders
Requirements

Degree-qualified in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or a related discipline

7+ years’ experience in mechanical building services / MEP design within a consultancy environment
-
Strong experience delivering HVAC and building services systems for industrial or commercial projects

Exposure to regulated environments such as life sciences, pharmaceutical, laboratories or cleanrooms

Understanding of relevant industry standards (CIBSE, ASHRAE, BS, EN)

Experience coordinating multidisciplinary design teams

Strong client-facing and communication skills

Chartered Engineer status is advantageous but not essential

Must be based in Ireland with flexibility for occasional European travel
