Cover Supervisor
Fancy a role where no two days are the same?
Love working with young people? Confident standing in front of a class? Looking for flexible work that fits around your life, or perhaps your first step into teaching?
This could be just the opportunity you've been waiting for.
We're looking for enthusiastic, reliable and confident Cover Supervisors to work in secondary schools across Doncaster. Whether you're an aspiring teacher, a recent graduate, an experienced educator, or someone with fantastic transferable skills, we'd love to hear from you.
You'll step into classrooms when teachers are absent, keeping learning on track, encouraging positive behaviour and helping students make the most of their day. No lesson planning. No late-night marking. Just the chance to make a real difference every time you walk through the school gates.
What you'll be doing
Every day brings something different, but you can expect to:
- Deliver pre-prepared lessons across a range of subjects.
- Manage classroom behaviour with confidence and positivity.
- Keep pupils engaged, focused and motivated.
- Create a calm, respectful learning environment.
- Support students with questions and encourage independent learning.
- Build positive relationships with both pupils and school staff.
- Adapt quickly to different schools and classroom settings.
Who would make a brilliant Cover Supervisor?
You don't necessarily need to have worked in a school before.
We're keen to hear from people who have experience working with young people through coaching, tutoring, youth work, mentoring, sports, performing arts, customer service, or leadership roles.
You'll ideally have:
- Excellent communication skills.
- Confidence leading groups of young people.
- A calm, positive approach under pressure.
- Strong behaviour management or transferable leadership skills.
- Flexibility and reliability.
- A genuine passion for helping young people succeed.
Previous classroom experience is welcomed but not essential.
