We're looking for an experienced and dedicated SENDCo to join a welcoming and inclusive school in Dewsbury. This is an opportunity to lead SEND provision, support colleagues and ensure every child has the opportunity to thrive.
You'll play a key role in shaping inclusive practice across the school, working closely with staff, families and external professionals to deliver high-quality support for pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities.
What you'll be doing
- Lead and develop the school's SEND provision in line with the SEND Code of Practice.
- Identify, assess and monitor pupils with additional needs.
- Work alongside teachers to create and review high-quality support plans.
- Liaise with parents, carers, external agencies and the senior leadership team.
- Support staff through coaching, advice and professional development.
- Ensure statutory requirements, EHCP reviews and SEND documentation are completed accurately and on time.
- Champion an inclusive culture where every pupil can achieve their potential.
We're looking for someone who has
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- The National Award for SEN Coordination (NASENCO), or a willingness to complete it within the required timeframe.
- Experience working as a SENDCo or within a SEND leadership role.
- A strong understanding of the SEND Code of Practice and current legislation.
- Excellent communication, organisational and leadership skills.
- A collaborative approach and a genuine commitment to inclusive education.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
