Our client is a leading national infrastructure engineering business delivering complex projects across highly regulated and safety-critical environments throughout the UK.
Operating across major infrastructure, defence and industrial sectors, the business supports large-scale asset upgrades, engineering improvements and long-term infrastructure programmes. With a strong pipeline of secured work and continued investment across the Midlands, they are looking to strengthen their Engineering Support capability with the appointment of a Civil Engineering Technician.
About the Role
As a Civil Engineering Technician, you will support engineering teams through the management of technical data, documentation and engineering records across a range of infrastructure and operational projects.
Working within a multidisciplinary environment, you will provide analytical and technical support to ensure engineering deliverables, compliance documentation and project records are maintained accurately and efficiently.
This role would suit someone with strong organisational and analytical skills looking to develop their career within major infrastructure and defence-related projects.
Due to the nature of the projects, candidates MUST be Sole UK Nationals and eligible to obtain UK Security Clearance.
The key responsibilities for this Civil Engineering Technician role are:
- Collect, analyse and maintain technical data relating to infrastructure assets and engineering activities
- Support the preparation and review of technical reports, records and engineering documentation
- Maintain engineering databases and ensure accuracy of project information
- Identify and correct inconsistencies across engineering records and technical documentation
- Support engineers with routine calculations, compliance checks and project support activities
- Assist with the delivery of engineering workstreams and project documentation requirements
- Liaise with multidisciplinary teams to support project coordination and reporting activities
- Ensure documentation is maintained in line with project, customer and regulatory standards
Experience required for this Civil Engineering Technician role are:
- Degree qualified in Civil Engineering or related discipline
- Strong attention to detail and organisational capability
- Experience producing or supporting technical reports and engineering documentation
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and spreadsheet-based reporting
- Ability to work within structured procedures and regulated environments
- MUST be a Sole UK National and eligible for Security Clearance
Desirable knowledge, skills and experience for this Civil Engineering Technician role are:
- Experience or awareness of defence, infrastructure or marine projects
- Experience working within customer-focused engineering environments
- Exposure to engineering drawings or 3D modelling software
- Experience supporting engineering process improvement or workstream development
