Commercial Manager - Major Infrastructure Project (HS2)
Near Birmingham (Site-based with 1 day WFH)
Up to £90,000 + package
 

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Commercial Manager to join a leading contractor delivering works on a high-profile UK infrastructure programme. This is a key commercial role, working within a Tier 1 JV environment on a complex and technically challenging project. You will take ownership of the full commercial function on a live site, operating at Senior QS / Commercial Manager level.

 

The Role
As Commercial Manager, you will play a pivotal role in the successful commercial delivery of the project, working closely with the main contractor and internal teams.
 

Key responsibilities include:
-    Preparation and agreement of monthly applications with the main contractor
-    Full change control management, including administration via CEMAR (or similar)
-    Producing detailed commercial reporting and internal analysis
-    Providing contractual advice to maximise value and protect commercial position
-    Managing subcontract procurement, payments and supplier relationships
-    Supporting the wider project team with commercial guidance and insight

 

About You
To be considered, you will need:
-    A degree in Quantity Surveying (or related discipline)
-    Strong post-qualification experience operating at Senior QS or Commercial Manager level
-    Excellent working knowledge of NEC contracts (JCT also beneficial)
-    Experience in major infrastructure, civils or engineering environments
-    Strong commercial acumen with the ability to manage projects autonomously
-    Proficiency with Excel, Word, and CEMAR (or similar systems)
-    Full UK driving licence

 

Desirable
-    Experience within piling or ground engineering
-    Professional membership (RICS, CIOB or similar)
-    CSCS Card
