We’re working with a welcoming primary school in Bristol with a dedicated resource base for pupils with autism. They’ve built a calm, structured environment where children are supported to communicate, regulate, and thrive, and they’re looking for someone who gets it.

This is a hands-on role, supporting pupils both 1:1 and in small groups, in the classroom and within the school’s specialist resource unit.

What the school is all about

This is a setting that truly prioritises inclusion. You’ll find:

  • A strong focus on supporting communication and social development
  • Clear routines and structured learning environments that help pupils feel safe
  • A nurturing, child-centred approach where every pupil is supported at their own pace
  • A team that works closely together, sharing strategies and celebrating progress

The resource base is a key part of the school, designed to give pupils the additional support they need while still feeling part of the wider school community.

‍ What you’ll be doing

  • Supporting pupils with autism on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
  • Working both in the mainstream classroom and the specialist resource unit
  • Helping pupils access learning through adapted activities and visual support
  • Supporting emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies
  • Building strong, consistent relationships that help pupils feel secure and understood

What we’re looking for

  • Experience supporting children with autism, in school or similar settings
  • A calm, patient approach, you’re the steady presence in the room
  • Confidence using structure, routine, and communication strategies
  • A genuine passion for helping children develop independence and confidence

Thrive trained? That’s a big plus.
Not yet? We’ll get you access to our free training, it’s a great addition to your SEN toolkit.

What you’ll get

  • From £14.25 per hour, paid weekly via PAYE
  • Consistent, full-time hours (8:30am – 3:30pm)
  • Access to free CPD and ongoing development
  • Support from a consultant who actually listens
  • A role where you’ll see real, day-to-day impact

You’re not just supporting learning here. You’re helping children find their voice, build confidence, and feel like they belong.
