We are working closely with a welcoming and supportive primary school in BS15 that is looking for dedicated Learning Support Assistants to support pupils across Key Stage 2.

This is a rewarding opportunity to work with children who may have Special Educational Needs (SEN), Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, or require additional support to engage positively with learning and school life. The school is committed to creating an inclusive environment where every child feels understood, supported, and able to achieve their potential.

You'll work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral staff to provide classroom support, deliver targeted interventions, and help pupils develop confidence, resilience, and positive learning behaviours.

Location: BS15

Pay: £14.30 - £14.75 per hour, paid weekly via PAYE

Your Role Will Include

  • Supporting pupils with SEN and SEMH needs within KS2 classrooms
  • Delivering 1:1 and small-group interventions
  • Building positive relationships that promote trust, engagement, and confidence
  • Supporting pupils with emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies
  • Helping children access learning activities and achieve individual targets
  • Encouraging independence, resilience, and social development
  • Working closely with teaching staff, SENCOs, and families to support pupil progress
  • Contributing to a safe, structured, and nurturing learning environment

A Bit About You

  • Experience working with children or young people in education, youth work, residential care, coaching, or support settings
  • An interest in SEN, SEMH, behaviour support, psychology, or child development
  • Calm, patient, and resilient when supporting children through challenges
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Confident supporting pupils with additional needs, including ADHD, ASD, speech and language needs, SEMH, or learning difficulties
  • Able to adapt your approach to meet individual needs
  • Passionate about helping children overcome barriers to learning and reach their potential

What We Need to Get You Started

To make things simple and get you ready quickly, we'll just need:

  • A valid passport or proof of right to work in the UK
  • Two proofs of address, such as a driving licence, utility bill, or council tax letter
  • An up-to-date CV covering the last 10 years of work or education, with any gaps explained
  • Two years of references, including education, childcare, voluntary, or employment references where applicable
  • An Overseas Police Check if you've lived abroad for three months or more within the last five years

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
