This is a role that asks for patience, compassion, and emotional resilience, but gives something back that few jobs can.

We’re working with a primary school in South Bristol (BS3) that has a dedicated SEND provision supporting pupils with complex needs. They’re looking for a Teaching Assistant who can bring consistency, care, and a calm presence to the classroom.

This isn’t about rushing progress. It’s about creating a safe, supportive space where every child can access learning in their own way.

What your day will involve:
You’ll support pupils with a range of complex needs, which may include autism, communication difficulties, and sensory processing needs. Your role will be to help them engage with learning, manage transitions, and feel comfortable in their environment.

You’ll work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals, including therapists, to ensure each pupil gets the support they need. You may use visual aids, sensory tools, and structured routines to support learning and behaviour.

Every day will be different. Some will be challenging, others incredibly rewarding, but you’ll always be part of a team that understands the importance of what you do.

The ideal candidate:
You’re calm, compassionate, and emotionally intelligent. You don’t rush children, you meet them where they are.

Experience with SEND or complex needs is helpful, but not essential. What matters most is your attitude, your patience, and your willingness to learn.

You’re reliable, consistent, and genuinely motivated to make a difference.
