About the Role
As a Quantity Surveyor, you will support the commercial delivery of M&E works on Hinkley Point C, providing contract administration, cost management and commercial support across the project lifecycle.
You will work closely with project and senior leadership teams, managing commercial risks, supporting supply chain engagement and ensuring projects are delivered in line with contractual and financial targets.
This role offers exposure to one of the UK's most high-profile infrastructure projects, within a structured environment that demands high standards and offers strong long-term career development. Although Nuclear experience is preferred those with a strong grasp of NEC3/4 contracts (especially option C&G) will be considered.
The key responsibilities for this Quantity Surveyor role are:
- Support commercial management from pre-contract through to final account
- Assist with contract administration and ensure compliance with contractual obligations
- Prepare valuations, applications for payment and cost reports
- Monitor project costs, forecasts and cashflow performance
- Identify and manage variations through formal change control processes
- Support negotiation and agreement of variations and final accounts
- Manage subcontractor accounts including procurement, valuation and payments
- Support risk identification and mitigation across project delivery
- Attend site walks and commercial meetings with internal and external stakeholders
- Maintain strong working relationships with clients and supply chain partners
Experience required for this Quantity Surveyor role are:
- Proven experience in a Quantity Surveyor role within M&E or infrastructure projects.. including Rail, Civils, Utilities.
- Experience working with NEC forms of contract
- Experience managing subcontractor packages and commercial processes
- Strong commercial awareness and cost control experience
- Ability to work within a high-pressure, delivery-focused environment
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
Desirable knowledge, skills and experience for this Quantity Surveyor role are:
- Experience working on large-scale infrastructure or energy projects
- Experience within regulated environments such as nuclear, power or utilities
- Familiarity with ERP or cost management systems
- Professional accreditation or working towards chartership
