KS2 is where confidence really starts to take shape.

We’re working with a friendly, well-established primary school in BS13 who are looking for a dedicated KS2 Learning Assistant to join their team after half term.

This role is about far more than classroom support. It’s about helping children build resilience, independence, and belief in themselves at a stage where learning becomes more challenging and expectations begin to rise.

If you’re someone who enjoys encouraging young people to push through challenges and reach their potential, this could be a really rewarding next step.

What your day-to-day will look like:

  • Supporting learning across KS2 classrooms
  • Delivering targeted small group interventions in English and maths
  • Providing focused 1:1 support where needed
  • Helping pupils stay engaged, organised, and confident in their learning
  • Working closely with the class teacher to adapt resources and activities
  • Encouraging independence and celebrating every bit of progress

You’ll also play an important role in helping pupils prepare for the transition to secondary school, both academically and emotionally.

Who we’re looking for:

  • Experience working with primary-aged children, ideally within KS2
  • Confidence supporting English and maths learning
  • A calm, clear, and positive communication style
  • Someone who builds strong relationships quickly
  • Proactive, reliable, and a supportive team player
  • A belief in high expectations, with the right support to get there

And yes, a good sense of humour definitely helps when working with Year 5 and 6.

Why work with Protocol Education:

  • Support from a dedicated consultant who knows local schools well
  • Ongoing guidance throughout your placement
  • Free CPD opportunities, including Thrive training
  • A focus on finding the right school fit for you
  • Weekly PAYE pay, £92 – £94 per day

What we need to get you started:

  • Right to work in the UK
  • Two proofs of address
  • A CV covering the last 10 years, with any gaps explained
  • Two years of references, including recent school or childcare experience
  • An overseas police check if you’ve lived outside the UK for 3 months or more in the last 5 years

If you’re ready to make a genuine impact in upper primary and help pupils take that next big step, we’d love to hear from you.

Before you apply, are you Thrive trained? If not, we can support you with free training, a great way to build confidence and stand out in KS2 roles.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. Please see the FAQs on the Protocol Education website for further details.
