If you enjoy working with young people and want flexible, paid experience alongside your studies, this role is a great fit for English students (and graduates). It’s fully adaptable around university deadlines, gives you valuable classroom and life experience, and requires no teaching qualifications or experience - just the right character and confidence to work with young people. We work with talented undergraduates from University of Bristol and University of West England, who want to earn as they build up fantastic skills on their CV. You can begin as a Teaching Assistant and work your way up to Suppy Teaching.

Our educators love the flexibility of day-to-day work in schools that value them. You can adjust your availability around deadlines, exams and busy periods. Many also secure long-term roles within just a few weeks, if that's what they're seeking. We are seeking people who are outgoing, friendly, upbeat, and most of all, reliable and professional.

The Role

As an Unqualified Supply Teacher, you’ll step in when a teacher is absent. You’re not expected to teach new content. Your role is to lead, guide and manage the classroom. While you will mainly be placed in English lessons, you may also be asked to cover other subjects. This is completely normal - this is a classroom management role, not a subject teaching role, so specialist subject knowledge is not required.

  • Deliver pre-set work left by the teacher
  • Use your communication skills to explain tasks clearly
  • Keep students focused, motivated and on task
  • Build positive, professional relationships with pupils
  • Adapt confidently to different subjects and classroom environments
