Not every classroom day runs like clockwork. And some children need a bit more than a gentle nudge to stay on track.

We’re working with a lively primary school in South Bristol looking for a 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a pupil with behavioural needs. This role is about patience, resilience, and knowing when to bring the energy or dial things right down.

The school understands that behaviour is communication. They’re not looking for someone to “manage” a child, they want someone who can build trust and help them succeed.

What your day will involve:
You’ll be right there alongside one pupil, helping them stay engaged, navigate challenges, and feel part of the classroom.

Some days will be smooth, others might test your patience, but you’ll always have support from the team around you.

You’ll adapt activities, use positive reinforcement, and help create moments where things click.

The ideal candidate:
You’ve got a calm head and a good sense of humour. You don’t take things personally, and you know how to reset and move forward.

Maybe you’ve worked in schools, youth work, sports coaching, or care. What matters is your ability to connect and stay steady.

Why Protocol Education:

Weekly PAYE pay
Free CPD in behaviour strategies and de-escalation
Dedicated consultant support
Long-term opportunities in supportive schools
