Senior Quantity Surveyor
Bolton (Office-based with occasional site travel)

The Opportunity
We are working with a well-established and growing organisation within the multi-utility infrastructure sector, looking to appoint an experienced Senior QS to join their commercial team. Reporting into the Commercial Manager, you will play a key role in managing the commercial performance of multiple projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and in line with contractual and regulatory requirements. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially astute QS looking to step into a senior role with real influence across project delivery and team development.

Key Responsibilities
-    Prepare and manage cost estimates, budgets, and project financial reports (P&L)
-    Monitor project costs and performance to ensure budget and programme adherence
-    Manage contract administration, including variations, negotiations, and payment processes
-    Work closely with project teams, engineers, and clients to ensure successful delivery
-    Support design and estimating teams with pricing for non-standard works
-    Conduct site visits to monitor progress and resolve commercial or contractual issues
-    Analyse project performance alongside operations teams, identifying and addressing any variances
-    Provide commercial insight, risk analysis, and strategic advice
-    Mentor and support Assistant and Trainee Quantity Surveyors
-    Build and maintain strong client relationships

About You
-    Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within utilities, infrastructure, or contracting environments
-    Strong understanding of UK construction and utility industry standards
-    Knowledge of contract law, procurement, and financial management
-    Proficient in Microsoft Excel and MS Office
-    Strong negotiation, analytical, and communication skills
-    Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
-    Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
-    Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or similar
-    Professional membership (e.g. RICS, CIOB) is desirable but not essential
-    Full UK driving licence
