Not every student needs someone to have all the answers.

Sometimes, they just need someone who listens, understands, and shows up every day ready to help them succeed.

We're looking for Learning Support Assistants to join specialist SEMH schools and alternative provisions across Bath, supporting pupils who may be facing social, emotional, and mental health challenges.

These are roles where patience matters, relationships come first, and the smallest breakthroughs can feel like the biggest victories.

What you'll be doing

  • Supporting pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
  • Building positive relationships that help pupils feel safe, supported, and understood
  • Providing one-to-one and small group support throughout the school day
  • Encouraging engagement, confidence, and independence in learning
  • Supporting behaviour strategies and emotional regulation
  • Working alongside teachers, pastoral teams, and specialist staff to help pupils thrive

We'd love to hear from you if you:

  • Have experience working with children, young people, or vulnerable adults
  • Are calm, empathetic, and resilient
  • Understand that every behaviour tells a story
  • Can build trust and positive relationships quickly
  • Have experience in education, youth work, residential care, coaching, mentoring, support work, or similar settings

Why join Protocol Education?

  • Weekly PAYE pay, no umbrella company deductions
  • FREE access to our online CPD Academy
  • Ongoing support from a dedicated consultant
  • Opportunities across SEND, SEMH, and alternative education settings
  • Local placements that match your skills and career goals
  • Referral rewards when you recommend friends and colleagues

Looking for a role that really matters?

This is more than a support role.

It's being the reassuring face at the start of a difficult day. The calm voice during a challenging moment. The person who helps a young person realise they're capable of more than they thought possible.

If that sounds like your kind of role, we'd love to hear from you.

Apply today and help make every school day a little brighter for the young people who need it most.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. Please see the FAQs on the Protocol Education website for further details.
