Network Engineer - Argnetina
Network Engineer – Global SD-WAN | Major Mining Infrastructure Project
Location: Remote – Peru, Argentina or Brazil
✈️ Travel: Occasional travel across LATAM (all expenses covered)
Employment Type: 12-month contract – FTE on day rate
We're looking for an experienced Network Engineer to join an elite engineering team delivering one of the largest mining infrastructure projects currently underway in Latin America.
Backed by an investment of approximately USD $7–10 billion, this greenfield programme will create a world-class mining operation supported by a brand-new global communications network. You'll play a key role in designing, deploying and supporting a modern Global SD-WAN environment, connecting remote sites across challenging mountainous terrain where critical infrastructure is being built from scratch.
This isn't a traditional support role. You'll help bring connectivity to locations where new fibre infrastructure is still being commissioned and, in some cases, where permanent power has yet to be established. It's a rare opportunity to work on a project that will leave a lasting legacy while solving complex networking challenges in some of the most demanding environments.
Working remotely as part of a small, highly skilled international team, you'll collaborate closely with engineers, project managers and on-site personnel to ensure reliable, secure and high-performing connectivity throughout the project lifecycle.
Details:
️ Deploy, configure and support a large-scale Global SD-WAN network across multiple mining sites.
️Install, configure and troubleshoot enterprise routers, switches, wireless networks and supporting infrastructure.
️Support the rollout and commissioning of newly constructed fibre optic networks.
️Ensure stable Wi-Fi coverage and reliable network performance across remote operational sites.
️Diagnose and resolve LAN, WAN, SD-WAN and connectivity issues affecting business-critical operations.
️Participate in network testing, commissioning, acceptance and operational handover.
️Produce and maintain technical documentation, network diagrams and implementation records.
️Collaborate with global engineering teams to deliver best-practice network solutions.
️Travel to project locations across Peru and neighbouring LATAM regions when required to support deployments, maintenance and critical project milestones.
What We're Looking For
️5+ years' experience as a Network Engineer in enterprise, industrial or critical infrastructure environments.
️Proven experience implementing and supporting SD-WAN technologies.
️Strong knowledge of routing, switching, wireless networking, TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, VPNs and enterprise networking principles.
️Hands-on experience configuring routers, switches, wireless access points and network security devices.
️Experience supporting fibre optic or WAN infrastructure projects is highly desirable.
️Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
️Fluent Spanish is essential.
Desirable Experience
️Cisco SD-WAN (Viptela), Cisco Catalyst, Fortinet, Palo Alto, Aruba or Juniper technologies.
️Mining, energy, utilities or industrial infrastructure projects.
️Large-scale greenfield deployments.
️Enterprise Wi-Fi design and optimisation.
️CCNP, CCIE, Fortinet NSE or equivalent certifications.
