Protocol Education are working with a specialist SEND school in Basildon that is looking to recruit a Learning Support Assistant to join their team from April 2026.The school supports children and young people aged 3&ndash;19 with severe and complex learning difficulties, within a modern and well-resourced learning environment. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain experience supporting pupils with additional needs while working as part of a supportive and experienced staff team.The Role&bull; Working in partnership with class teachers to support pupils&rsquo; learning and development &bull; Supporting pupils with their daily routines and individual learning activities &bull; Assisting with personal care where required, including toileting, dressing, feeding and mobility &bull; Helping to create a safe, structured and engaging learning environment &bull; Supporting pupils with a range of complex learning needsWhat We&rsquo;re Looking For&bull; A caring, patient and reliable individual &bull; Experience working with children or young people with additional needs is desirable &bull; This role would also suit someone looking to gain experience in an SEN classroom &bull; Strong communication and teamwork skillsWorking Pattern26.5 hours per week Term time only (39 weeks per year)Salary&pound;15,207 &ndash; &pound;15,938 actual salary (plus pension and additional benefits)This is a rewarding opportunity to support young people with complex needs and play a key role in helping them develop confidence, independence and life skills.If you are interested in this opportunity,&nbsp;please apply with your CV and a member of the Protocol Education team will be in touch.All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
